can't access add / remove programs

I'm having problems with yellow dog linux. I have the 6.0ver. and can't watch video or add /remove programs. I found this info on the terra soft web page>.The Package Manager will fail to run if you do not have a) internet access; and b) a proper yum repository configured.

It is suggested that you use the List TAB to select or deselect the apps to be installed or removed, not the Browse listing
Do you know how I'm supose to do this? I am new at ydl and I'm not too smart about computers so i need step by step instructions. If you know where I can get any info on ydl please send me a link. bama_mafioso@live.com
