Canīt get on the internet


Hey Linux users...

Sorry, but im not good at English....

I have Ubuntu 6.0.6, but i canīt get on the internet... i have tryed everything, but it worent work :S

I have been in anohter forum, in that they says: It is very hard to get on the internet with that
motherboard (Asrock 939-dual)

So please help me..

What do you speak?
Are you trying to hook up with DSL or dial up?
More details would be nice..

Well from my understanding your NIC should have been setup automatically during install. Can you post if your NIC card is built into your motherboard or are you using a external PCI NIC card and let us know what brand / model it is?

I think we will definetly need more information before we can determine where the problem lies.

As for off the head question, During your Install do you remember seeing anything about your NIC card being installed and being prompted with some information about it? When I installed Fedora Core 5 I was prompted to select which NIC I wanted to be active everytime I turned my machine on.

Yes post here the output of your ifconfig and also your /etc/networks/interfaces or equal.
