Can't write to floppy

In one of my floppys there are pencils crossed out above the icon and I can't edit the text files. How can I fix this?

Pencils crossed out to me would mean "read-only". You can change attributes, but it's likely this floppy is formatted with a fat filesystem which doesn't support linux attributes. Your best bet IMHO would be to copy the file somewhere on your hard drive, edit it (you can change attributes once it's on a linux filesystem) and then copy it back.

You have other options as well, this one is, IMHO, just the simplest.

Cool
