Can't use any Perl programs in MAndrake? PLEASE HELP!
Hi,
I am trying to install Perl programs but none of them work. When I am trying to install the Gtk I get this: [root@localhost root]# cd /home/matt/Gtk-0.5120 [root@localhost Gtk-0.5120]# perl Makefile.PL Configuring Perl/Gtk+... Note that additional packages can be added by giving switches to Makefile.PL, including: --with-gdkimlib --with-gnome --with-gnome-panel --with-gnome-zvt --with-gtkglarea --with-gtktty --with-gtkxmhtml We are going to guess some packages, if we guess wrong just use the flags above but change "with" to "without". Unfortunately, these packages aren't terribly smart, and you may need to tweak the resultant Makefile or the */pkg*.pl files to properly locate the files needed for a package. You may also use '--lazy-load', which will reduce initial memory usage and loading time, at the cost of some internal glitches. gnome-config not found! If you did not enable any gnome options, you can ignore the above message sh: line 1: gcc: command not found Unable to find Gtk version... Invoking gendefs.pl with []. Please wait, this may take a moment... LIBS=-L/usr/X11R6/lib -lgtk -lgdk -lglib -lX11 -lXext Checking if your kit is complete... Looks good Error: Unable to locate installed Perl libraries or Perl source code. It is recommended that you install perl in a standard location before building extensions. Some precompiled versions of perl do not contain these header files, so you cannot build extensions. In such a case, please build and install your perl from a fresh perl distribution. It usually solves this kind of problem. (You get this message, because MakeMaker could not find "/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.1/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE/perl.h") Does anyone know what I can do about this? I'm using a new clean install of Mandrake 9.2 THanks, Matt |
