Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I know this isn't the biggest priority, but it's still annoying.
I am unable to upload photos to MySpace using the flash uploader. This is the one that lets you upload multiple pictures at once. I can upload using the single file uploader, but when you have a lot of pictures this can become time consuming. I know that i have flash installed in my browser or else i would not even be able to see the uploader. I am able to select the files i want to upload, but once i hit next it just sits there rather than start the upload. I thought it may be MySpace so i decided to boot into windows for the first time in weeks. The uploader works fine in windows so
i am guessing it must be my browser on linux. Has anyone else had any similar issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I'm watching this thread to see if there's a fix- I have a similar issue that's been going on since I started my MySpace account several weeks ago.
FWIW- I just assumed it had something to do with this:
We're still in Beta, so this feature currently only works for regular MySpace profiles in Internet Explorer. If you're using another browser or are a band, filmmaker, or comedian, stay tuned. We're working on it!
However, that's for Profile Manager, not the Photo Uploader, which reports no errors. For me, it goes to the "uploading photos" page, but nothing happens.

dragonslayer48dx, I use Firefox and uploading pictures works fine. Yes everything is done in Linux. I use Linux for everything. Again it does help to keep Flash Player updated because young web designer crowd are using Flash more than caring to learn HTML.
If you check the source code of your MySpace profile, most of the formating can be changed through CSS.
Of course you can run Internet Explorer 6 in Wine and then you can use MySpace Profile Editor. I suggest use either IE 4 Linux or Wine-doors to ease Wine setup and install Internet Explorer. I have not yet tried Wine-doors.
I updated my flash to the latest version and i am able to upload pictures now. However, when i am uploading pictures my browser gets extremely choppy. It seems as if it is freezing up and only updates every 10 seconds or so. As annoying as this is, it will upload if i leave it alone. At first i thought it was sucking up all of my computers memory, but i can run other programs with no lag at all while uploading. The only time it runs slowly is when the Firefox window is in the foreground. Even if i only have one tab open it's still laggy.
