Can't seem to install rpms in redhat 7.2
Hi , i've tried using kpackage and the command prompt to install rpm
packages but i keep getting a popup which says error. I've tried sevral different packages to make sure it wasn't just the one, but to no avail, all had the same error message. I'm using redhat 7.2, and have tried installing as the root user and a regular user. Any help would be appreciated. |
Can you post the error message?
|
that's the weird thing about it. There's no error message other than a small popup with name
of the package and the word ERROR on it. |
I had same prob in 7.1 but it ....
Yes. I had that same problem in Redhat 7.1 I think. I used to use Kpackage and install and rpm even after satisfying dependencies
and I would get that pop-up "error" window...but everything would install and the program would work. I just clicked the error window off. But I am still confused as to why I was getting those error windows all the time. Anyways maybe its better to learn the command line rpm instead and get away from the "windows" type installs. I dont know if the errors would still be there in the command line case. I am going to reinstall Linux and use 7.2 so I'll see if I get the same errors again and maybe post a similiar question if I do and see if anyone knows whats wrong. bye :) |
