can't seem to find the graphical rpm program, Red Hat 8.0

I just installed RH8.0 on my system. I have most of my important programs saved to disk on my rh7.2 drive, so I was attempting to install them, low and behold, both kpackage and gnorpm don't seem to exist. I'm not very well versed in installing rpms from the command line, and I'm not looking to learn alot about it at the moment, I can do okay, but I would rather do it graphically. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Installing from the command line doesn't have to be hard at all. At its simplest, you can get all the information you need when installing like this:
rpm -Uvh filename.rpm (actually upgrade, but works for install too).
If you need to specifiy certain things, like not checking for dependencies and the like, then they can all be found in the man page, but the most common two will be:
rpm -Uvh filename.rpm --nodeps
rpm -Uvh filename.rpm --force

It seems that RedHat have changed the names for many of the useful apps, and I'm afraid I don't run RH8.0, so until you find the GUI apps, I HTH.

Either dif it through Gnome/KDE/etc start menus or use command line, at least once you can use it just to verify that gnorpm/kpackage installed just do either
rpm -qs gnorpm
rpm -qs kpackage
or
which gnorpm
which kpackage
If it finds the programs you are OK to use command line once more to successfully launch either one of them, just become root with /bin/su
and issue
gnorpm &
or
kpackage &
Have fun.

Duh. Big Duh. In RH 8.0, all you have to do is click the file, and it will run the installer... seemless.

nope, I came off of a rh 7.2 installation. and at the DATC, Tom had the linux students using 7.3 before the release of 8.0, and they stilled had to use a program. (I'm not advanced enough yet to take the linux classes, I will be in just a few months though)
