can't ping the local ip address


dear all,

i installed fc2. in this i can ping the loopback address (127.0.0.1) but i can't ping the local ip address. the local ip i defined is (192.168.52.3/255.255.255.0)

Is the interface up, as root do 'ifconfig' and see if there is an entry for the interface. If it is the only one it should be called 'eth0'.

If you can't ping it, it looks it's not up. Use ifconfig as snowtigger suggestes. Can you browse www, send/receive mail?
