Can't mount USB drive-Slackware
I'm trying to use my flash drive in Slackware 12. If I navigate to the /system/media/sdb in Konquerer, I see the drive listed. When I click on it or right click and select "mount", I get the following:
____________________________________________________ A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message) had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)"destination "org.freedesktop.Hal") ____________________________________________________ Vewy, vewy cryptic. I've googled, to no avail. Any ideas? |
There's a sticky thread in the Slackware forum on here about this: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d-this-566862/
Is essence, you need to add your user to the plugdev and cdrom groups to be able to automount devices. |
Thanks for the tip. Once I did:
usermod -G plugdev,cdrom <username> It worked! |
Cool, glad it was easy :)
