can't login to fedora3
 

I finish installing fedora3, and it asked me to setup an account. it says it's better to set up an account, or I will need to login as a admin/root? somthing like that. But In the login screen, no matter what I typed in, I can't login. I rememer only one password I typed in, because it asked me for the root password. I tried this many times no work. besides, it's only a password, what should I put in the ID field?

Your ID will be "root" then you'll be prompted to enter your password.

but I want to login automatically, and in the login setting it says auto login with root is not allowed. should I just create a user account and repeat the steps to setup the auto login? where can I create an account?

Somewhere in the menus should be something for users and groups; so just browse throught the menus. Else you can always use adduser (or was it useradd?) from a commandline.

You should never use root to login except for system maintenance.

You shouldn't play with Linux while running as root, because you can literally f-up your system up by making one stupid mistake. It's better to run as a user who is underpriviled, and if you should happen to make a mistake as a user, you wont be able to do any severe damage to your file-system, do to the fact that you are an underprivileged user. To add a user to your box run "adduser" from the console, and it'll walk you through the steps of adding another user account on your box.
