can't load webpages through using roaring penguin rpppoe

Hello!
For several weeks now (since installation), I have been able to connect to internet pages using the roaring penguin script rpppoe. Starting yesterday, however, when I run the 'adsl-connect' script I get the usual list of remote IP address, local IP address, and the IP addresses of the 2 DNS servers.

When I attempt to access a webpage, though, I unfailingly get the message "www.foo.com" not found. Attempting to ping an domain also times out, but when I attempted to ping the primary dns server there were no problems.

Running 'adsl-status', the info I receive is :
"
link up and running on interface ppp1
inet addr *.231.7.52
P-t-P addr *.231.7.2
mask 255.255.255.255
"
It sounds to me like there is something going on with the dns server, yet when I attempt to connect to the internet on my windows partition (like now) there is no problem.

Might it have something to do with that mask? I am more used to seeing 255.255.255.0, but don't really know what it means!

thanks in advance,
doug

I have no idea, really, but it's possible you just need to set your DNS info to "SERVER" during adsl-setup.

Hello!
If that is the case, then why am I now unable to connect to the internet, when previously I was able to?

The only scripts I have run thus far are 'adsl-connect' and 'adsl-status' , so I don't think this is the problem (unless other (perhaps KDE or Mandrake 'helper applications') are changing settings without my knowledge?
