can't load mandrake, says i dont have file permissions? wtf! agh help plz

man this is really starting to piss me off lol ive had like 4 problems with linux already! ah anyways, i made a partition accessible by windows and linux, fat32. so i mount it and stuff and i can read it only. so i try and edit the file that people edit for permission, forgot wat its called right now, and i press save and it says i dont have permission to edit that file! how do i log in as root? i used the command in the konsole in kde and logged in as root, but i still couldnt edit the file. so instead i used the partitioning application in kde to set the access to it. right so my fat32 partition is working. then i downloaded a driver ffor my NIC, realtek and it says to move a file into /lib/modules/<linux-version>/kernel/drivers/net/. so i try and move the file and it says i dont have permissoin to move the file their. well i go back to the partition application and try and set the permission for the partitions, / i think it was, well i clicked on some stuff lol, and i still didnt have permission. well i restart computer and now kde wont load cuz it says "cannot access file: permission denied" or something on EVERY file that it tried to load! >_< this is so freaking lame heh. if ANYONE can help me pleeeease post here or instant message me on AIM if im online, Raptor20561 is my screen name. any help would be appreciated ASAP

Not very good...You'll probably need to boot from your MDK installation disk (in rescue mode) and change the configuration file manually. The file that's probably connected with the problem is /etc/fstab. Are you able to read it (and post here) from your system now?
