I use to have problems installing extentions untill I installed it in my home and to save the plugins.delete the plugins folder and link -s with the plugins I had in mozilla/plugins,then I could install anything I wanted.
Installed firefox in my home<eliminates permision problems>then delete that plugins folder and make a link to a plugins folder that has all your plugins.Just saves time installing the plugins again if you allready have them installed in another firefox or mozilla.I use apt so it is easy to install them to mozilla then they are linked to firefox in home, works great, read it around here, they explain it better then I do! Here is my link from root;ln -s /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins /home/david/firefox first I deleted the /home/david/firefox/plugins
