This is my first post as a Linux user.

I downloaded the gpar2-0.3-2.i386.rpm (a par2 program) from:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=171020

I think I've messed up as it won't uninstall:

I've tried rpm -e gpar2
but get:

postrm called with unknown argument `0'
error: %postun(gpar2-0.3-2.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1


I can't reinstall the gpar2 rpm above as it says it's already installed. Nor can I uninstall it as it always reappears in the package manager (rpmDrake) as installed.

I'm running Mandriva 2007, i586. Should I have installed an i586 version, or is this problem caused for another reason ('user-error' springs to mind!)?

I'm not normally a quitter, but I'm going back to Windoze for now. I like Linux, but I think it relies too heavily on the command line, and scares off even the reasonably tech-savvy I should imagine.
