can't install libpng

:p ;) :(

i'm totally new to linux but i wanted to learn how to install programs. so i tried installing lbreakout 2.5 from a tar file. I unpacked it and then typed ./configure it was doing fine and then it said i needed to install libpng. I got an rpm and installed it but it sill says the same thing. So then i tried to install it from a tar file. unpack it then what ???????. Everthing i tried doesn't work.

You probably need the libpng-devel RPM package, don't install it from the tarball if you already have the RPM installed.

This is what it said:

Some package requested cannot be installed:
libpng3-devel-1.2.5-10.5.100mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied libpng3[== 2:1.2.5-10.5.100mdk])
do you agree ?
