Can't install flash on FC5

Okay, sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place or whatever but I have been trying FOREVER ot get flash running in FC5! My browser is Mozilla Firefox.

what I hae done so far is run the installer in Gui. But it diden't seem to work. I sayes it was installed but when I did an about: plugins in firefox I could not see Flash.

So then I used what the Flash site said to do and once agian it says it is installed but firefoxc dosent feel like seeing it.

I took a look inside of the plugins folder and its there heres the line
Code:
[nick1@ip-static lib]$ cd mozilla
[nick1@ip-static mozilla]$ ls
plugins
[nick1@ip-static mozilla]$ cd plugins
[nick1@ip-static plugins]$ ls
libflashplayer.so mozplugger.so nphelix.so nphelix.xpt
I have no Idea what the colors in the terminal mean, So if you couuld fill me in.

Scince the working plugins are a diffent color than the flash plugin does that mean the file is corrupt? or will not work?

Flash Player Problem.

Hi 1vh1. Have you tried using the RPM file from Adobe's website? I run Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn, and I used Adobe's Debian package, and it installed fine and works with all the browsers installed on my system (Konqueror, Firefox, Seamonkey, Galeon, and Epiphany). You can download it here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...sion=Netscape4
Select the RPM file, download it, and once you click on it, a package installer should appear. If not, become root in a terminal, and type this into the terminal: rpm -Uvh rpmnamehere.rpm (replacing rpmnamehere with the name of your package, while KEEPING the .rpm extension on the end). That should solve your problem. Hope this helps .

Thank you for replying But I have already done all that I know it is installing but firefox isnt finding it for some reson. If you look at my first post it is in the plugins file, but firefox is'nt picking it up. I have already restareded my systemafter installing, and made shure my browser was closed during installation.

Are there any other programs that can act like a flash player mabye?

Try downloading the .tar.gz file and extracting the .so file to your plugins directory.
