Firefox comes bundled with Suse 10.1, which is what I'm using. Today I typed "linuxquestions.com" into the address box of Firefox, (like I've done before when I don't have a bookmark). And then I went to a site called linuxquestions.com, (no capital letters, no space between linux and questions and it included .com. But I had never seen that site before. I was expecting to see a familiar site (what an unintended play on words), but what I saw was a complete surprise. This site was uncharacteristically commercial, considering it dealt with Linux.

Over in the Windows environment, using Firefox and the same URL, I could access this site. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing this.

This is very strange. Please, if someone can tell me what's going on here it would be great. Even better if you could tell me how to fix it.

The site you want is linuxquestions.org. The problem is that Windows was taking you to the wrong site - which happened to be the one you wanted.
