Can't get to Charter.net email, videos won't run

Yesterday morning all was fine until the Update manager indicated I lacked several updates. After loading them I could no longer get to my Charter.net email nor could I see videos (youtube, embedded in news websites, etc.)

I have Firefox as the browser. I am new to both Firefox and Ubuntu and am getting the hang of it but this is not a user error nor is the Charter.net email system down (I can get to it on a friend's windows system).

How do I restore my system to yesterday morning without having to try typing code? I thinking 'point/click' type of actions are more my speed.

Seems to me there is a problem with the flashplayer.
Try to reinstall it.

Kind regards

Flash Player re-installed. No help.

Thanks for the recommendation. It took awhile (note my Newbie status) to find the un-install stuff in Firefox/Ubuntu but I finally got there. Remove/Install of the Flash Player did not improve the situation.

I am open to further recommendations/instructions.

Reinstall, or install (if you don't already have it) Flash Player

Tried that

Thanks for the recommendation, JNK. I did the uninstall/reinstall thing with Flash Player. No joy. I'm trying to find a way to restore my system to its status before the update.

Sorry for the late post. Thanks to all who made recommendations. This thread was solved via the Ubuntu help/blog page. The flash player was the issue but it was quite a bit more complicated than simply doing an uninstall/install cycle.

Perhaps you can provide the solution, so others can benefit?

Kind regards
