I am running Slackware 10.2 with a networked HP 7210xi. I've installed hplip, and I tried accessing the printer with the address: 169.254.144.33 which I found in my SUSE install which works fine.
Here is the output of hp-check

I did look to the link suggested in the last line but I am unable to find a solution! Also, the 4 printers listed are just a few of the setups I have tried. I edited the 1 error, and the 1 warning with ***** so you can find it
. It appears that hplip is listed as 'no' in each case, but when I try:
/ect/rc.d/rc.hplip
Code:
Stopping hpiod: [ OK ]
Stopping hpssd: [ OK ]
Starting hpiod: [ OK ]
Starting hpssd: [ OK ]
What should I do next?

Sorry, forgot to mention I can't find 'snmp*.tgz' here is the link I tried
http://www.linuxpackages.net/search_...15&position=75
I found libsnmp-1.0.3.tar.gz at:
http://seafelt.unicity.com.au/downloads
but I don't know how to install it, I tried after extracting it:
Code:
/home/jon/sibsnmp-1.0.3/python setup.py install
but I received an error as root:
Code:
/home/jon/libsnmp-1.0.3/python: No such file or directory
Where did I go wrong?
