Can't get keyboard to work.

Ok, i'm trying to install Debian on my laptop but i can't get the keyboard to work.
The keyboard works on the 'bootscreen' but after i typed 'enter' or 'linux' or 'linux26' i get no reaction. Anybody had the same problem and have the solution?
The keyboard is a 'NEC Note Keyboard with One-Touch start buttons'

Is it a 'normal' US keyboard, or something else? (Norwegian)

If it is USB-keyboard then you need to have the support for that in the kernel.

pass the bootkbd parameter when typing linux/linux26.
at the welcome screen, go through F3 - F5 to learn about
parameters you can use.
You'll have to set it to norwegian.
Maybe:
linux26 bootkbd=nw
Or 'no'. Or 'ny'. I don't know. You'll have to find that out
on your own

Did you try entering expert at the boot prompt?

Not really sure this will make any difference, but it's worth a shot.

Yes, i entered expert, didn't help. So i plugged in a USB keyboad and that worked, but i still can't get the keyboard to work after the install.

Ok, now i gave up the debian thing and have tried xubuntu. Same problem here, but i plugged in a USB keyboard and mouse and got the install done. After the install the keyboard still does not work, i did some googling and found a link saying that i should edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and put acpi=off. This does not work, and i can't find any drivers for the keyboard and touchpad. Anybody have any ideas?
