Can't get 1280x1024 mode working in FC3

I'm running x86 FC3 (X.org distro) with a 16 meg Vanta (which my OS detects as a Riva TNT2, Vanta isn't even listed) and A70 Viewsonic monitor (A combination that has had no problems running 1280x1024 on SuSE 9.1, RH 9, Windows 98, ME and 2000) and I've already installed the nvidia drivers (Which I had hoped would fix this problem). Is there a simple fix or is that resolution just not supported on my setup? I'm currently having to improvise on 1152x864 on "Millions of colors" (Which I would figure is 24 bits).

try running /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig. You could also manually change the xorg.conf file
