can't find modules.conf under /etc


I am at the end stage of installing my sound card, but can't find the modules.conf under /etc so I can edit it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

[root@localhost etc]# ls modules.conf
ls: modules.conf: No such file or directory

am i doing something wrong?

I know modules.conf is under /etc on my slackware machine. In Red Hat it may be different.

You could look for it as root:
# find / -name 'modules.conf'

FOUND IT! It is under /etc/modprobe.conf

Now if you'd have said you were using a 2.6 kernel we could have told you that from the start.
