Can't find gecko-sharp for Ubuntu?
Hi,
I've started using Mono to further my knowledge of programming, and I have a desire to play with a home-made web-browser. To do this I need gecko-sharp, but it is not in any of the Ubuntu repositories, and I cannot find anything by googling for it. The only thing I've found are 2 year old RPM's? It's not even as if it is old, as the latest issue of Linux Format has a tutorial on mono, and gecko-sharp is recommended. Can somebody please tell me where I can find Gecko-sharp for Ubuntu? Is there something I'm just plainly missing? Morrolan |
You googled to find it, and couldn't? I googled for gecko-sharp, and the first hit was http://www.mono-project.com/GeckoSharp.
The download page has links all over, including source and links to debian repositories. You can try to install the debian .deb file, it may work as ubuntu is based of debian unstable. You can also compile it from source, which will build it automatically. This page is particularly good - http://pkg-mono.alioth.debian.org/ Peace, JimBass |
