Can't figure out what the address is for my usb device
Hello, I'm new to linux. Running Ubuntu Dapper Drake.
My question is this: I would like to find out what the address is to my usb device. I googled it first, and came up with a "dmesg" command, but maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing. I am looking for some address in the form of "tty---" but dmesg isn't giving me any address like that.
Could my usb device not be a tty- is it possible that it is in the form of something like sdb1? Cause that's what I initially thought because that's what dmesg gave me, but when I go to /dev I just am not finding any sdb files, and when I did a gnome search for sdb files, nothing came up.
This is for an evdo internet connection. I can connect with my KPPP dialer or wvdial, but only if I know where the location of my usb device is. The device is functional, because it is set up properly on my laptop.
