Can't connect to internet using linux

Hey guys

My problem is now solved. I spoke to my ISP. They told me that the subnet mask that I was using was wrong. I am still surprised, because my windows connects to the internet using the previous mask itself.

Glad you got it sorted, but you really should consider using a newer distro than Red Hat 9.

Whether your DNS server address is correct in your above post...i.e., in /et/resolv.conf ?

If it is not correct it...and try pinging to your gateway...

It should work...

Go to networkconfig and try network applications present in your GUI...

that looks like a public IP address on your workstation.. so you are not behind a broadband router then ?

Make sure you enable a firewall for your machine..

suggestions: firestarter, guarddog
