I have recently installed WinXp Pro and Red Hat 9.0 on my custom computer. I can connect to the internet through XP but not through Linux. My Friends computer is the one used to connect to the internet. It runs XP Home. Help ME!! MY Computer: AMD XP 2500+ , MSI K7n2 Delta -L Mobo, 512 ram, ATI All In Wonder 9800 Pro.
Friends computer is built by HP.

Have you got your networking running? From a console as root do ifconfig -a and it should provide a list of nework connections (at least lo and eth0 & if eth0 is not listed its not working). You need to tell the linux box to use the IP address of the NIC it is connected to on the XP box as the gateway. You will also need to enter the DNS address of the ISP in /etc/resolv.conf
