Thanks for replying. It is always nice to know that one can help by sharing one's knowledge. I must have installed my printer's foo2zjs driver into about 10 distros now, and it always works perfectly (if I remember to set up CUPS as administrator i.e. root, each time).
I also appreciate the fact that you bothered to let others know that it worked.
Hopefully you won't suffer the same ridiculous costs of toner that I have experienced. I am well on the way to finishing the second set of 'large' toner cartridges and have now more than doubled the original cost of the base printer - but the output has always been fantastic - even when printing photos.
Yes you are right it is costly, but compared to my inkjet it's worth it. I don't print much and the inkjet cartriges must evaporate or something because I found myself buying cartriges every 6 months because they would dry up. Thanks for the reply and have a great New Year !
