I'm stuck on installing my printer ! I tried to install the printer via GUI and get an error message, line too long?

How do you know if cups is running at boot and where is there a good site to learn more about configuring networked printers?

I'm running Breezy 5.10 with Gnome desk.

Thanks for replying. It is always nice to know that one can help by sharing one's knowledge. I must have installed my printer's foo2zjs driver into about 10 distros now, and it always works perfectly (if I remember to set up CUPS as administrator i.e. root, each time).

I also appreciate the fact that you bothered to let others know that it worked.

Hopefully you won't suffer the same ridiculous costs of toner that I have experienced. I am well on the way to finishing the second set of 'large' toner cartridges and have now more than doubled the original cost of the base printer - but the output has always been fantastic - even when printing photos.

Yes you are right it is costly, but compared to my inkjet it's worth it. I don't print much and the inkjet cartriges must evaporate or something because I found myself buying cartriges every 6 months because they would dry up. Thanks for the reply and have a great New Year !
