Can't change X resolution.

Hi!

Well I got a big problem. None has been able to help me until now so mayhaps you are the first to be successfull.

I am using RedHat 9.0 and KDE.
My computer:
ASUS A7N8X deluxe (mainboard)
MSI GeForce TI4600 (grafic card)
and so on i dont think the other components are important...

Now the problem: When I have had configured X (in the redhat installation) the first time I was able to switch between 800x600 and 640x480. Now I can still change between those two resolutions. I've changed the driver of my grafic card in my XF86Config to "nvidia" and now, when I start X there's a NVIDIA screen before I am in KDE. I also downloaded the latest detonator drivers for linux.
When I try to adjust the screen resolution with CTRL+ALT+ +/- I can only change to 800x600 and 640x480.
When I use control panel -> system control -> screen (dunno its: systemeinstellungen -> anzeigen in german) I can also change to 1024x768 and 1280x1024 but when I restart the X server pressing CRTL+ALT+Backslash and then using the "startx"-command it's still this fucking 800x600 resolution. But what is really curious is that under this menu point "screen" it says that it's 1024x768 or 1280x1024 even if it's still this bloody 800x600.

Please help me! Thanks.
And try to hurry :D I'm having this problem for 4 days...

Follow this lines
Main Menu-System Settings-Display than enter the advanced section and choose a monitor type for yourself which best fits to you and save it.Than change the resolution in display section and restart the system it would be working.
