Can't Burn Mandrake 9.2 Isos

I'm having a really hard time burning the Mandrake 9.2 isos. First off, I tried using nero, but it kept giving me an error

Then I tried the windows CD recording wizard. It just gave me a "General Error."

Does anyone know what the problem is? I'm seriously getting frustrated with linux as I've tried to install many different distros, many different times, but I keep running in to problems like this.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

I'm not completely possitive as to your problem but it might be that you need to burn using a CD Image. I'm not too familiar with Nero, but if it has an option to burn using CD Image, try that. Also try just double clicking the ISO file, many CD burning softwares with set your computer to properly burn the ISO file when you try to open it. If it just absolutely won't work, I use Easy CD Creator and have had no problems with it. Hope I helped. :)

If you've got the iso's under windows, then also download and install md5summer.then get the md5sum file from the mirror that you downloaded from - print that off.

Then open/start md5summer, use the "create md5sums" facility, highlight the file and create - when it's finished its thing, compare the md5sum with the one you printed off from the mirror - if it's the same then great - if different, you're gonna have to re-download.

Once all three integrity checks are done, then open nero, close the wizard, just go for file>burn image and highlight the one that you want to burn.

Then just burn.

If you're still not sure, google for burn+image+nero+linux or something like that, I know there's a couple of small tutorials out there. But from my point of view, they only tell me with other possible settings I could use, and mine have always been correct as default.

regards

John
