One advantage of Linux is that the drivers needed to install peripheral devices are either include in the distribution, or found on the web.
Now to get to your problem. You need to have root access on your machine. As root type the command

system-config-printer
You should be able to access the printer on the network, and make it your default printer or not (up to you).
The setup of a printer is pretty much straight forward with this command. You need to follow the instructions on the screen.
