Cacti on Linux with SNMP enable device.


hello..i am wondering if there's any simple & easy to understand tutorial on installing cacti on snmp enable device. I am trying to monitor my dell powerconnect switch using cacti.

I really don't understand your question? You make it sound as if you want to install Cacti on this switch? Cacti is installed on an OS which in then monitors the switch using SNMP.

sorry..what i mean is install cacti on linux and use it to monitor the switch..

Their documentation is pretty good, have you even attempted to read it to get started? http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/
