(cache?) files appearing in home folder?
I keep finding huge amounts (100 odd) files in my ~ directory (which, admittedly, i don't look at very often, so they probably do grow slowly).
They're all things that have been e-mailed to me at some point (some of which are from e-mails i haven't read since this install) but i can't find a setting in kmail that'll tell it to put them somewhere else.
It's KMail 1.8.2, KDE 3.4.2, Mandriva 2006 free.
The names all start with the file extention, then seem to be pretty random:

Have you been receiving e-mails with attachments from people you do not recognize? Very possibly, you have been getting junk mail. If in doubt, DELETE the files and do not attmpt to open them.
Are the files in ~ , or in a subdirectory associated with your mail client?
Is your mail client set up to detect junk mail?
No, they're all files from e-mails i know of and recieve, this is what's odd about them. They're not by any means *all* the files i've got in attachments in kmail, though.
They're all in plain ~, rather than a sub-dir. I would've thought they'd have gone in a ~/.tmp or ~/.cache or something.
My mail client is not set up to detect junk mail, as i don't get any (I use gmail primarily). But, as i said, these aren't from junk mail. They're things like banners from newsletter e-mails and the rota from work.
There may be a configuration setting in you mail client that tells it where to store things like this.
Yeah, i went to ~ in konqueror and it showed me thumbnails of the images.
I was hoping there was a configuration setting, but i can't find it. Any ideas where it would be?
