c shell / borne shell


how do you know the shell you have is c shell or other one?

the default shell in linux is bash. if u want to use another u have to chose it.

if you run ps you should either see 'csh' or 'bash' or 'ksh' or whichever shell you are using as a process

Usually env varable $SHELL will tell you that
echo $SHELL
For csh it is a lowercase $shell
