Unhappy C-Media 8738 Detected but Silent Fedora Core

Hello,

I have just installed a new sound-card and am trying to get it to work.

I am running Fedora Core, but am unsure how to find out what version. logged in as root I do the sound-card detection and everything seems to work fine except for the test sound. I have tried telling it that it is heard and still don't get anything out when I play a CD.

I have tried both the green output on the card and the black output.

I have also messed around muting different items in the volume control.

I tried to install the software on the CD that came with the sound-card, but I get errors. I sort of stopped trying because, I feel that if the sound-card detection detects then it should have the drivers, etc.

I tried Alsa previously, but I ran into errors. When I say previously I mean when I was trying to get my Turtle Beach Montego 2 card to work.

I would go into more detail about the errors about the installations attempted in the terminal, but ti was trial and error by someone who was not super confident or knowledgeable and didn't have the sessions copied to a txt file.

Thanks In Advance,

FADAM

I have noticed in a couple of the other threads that people like to see the lsmod and lspci -v responses
