Building Mail Server

Hi

i am new to a mail server so i'm asking somebody to help me build mail server.

I have got three computers in my network, 2 comp with windows and one with linux slackware 8.1. All three comps are connected to a router and this router is connecte to a cable modem.

I have got a web and ftp server already working on linux box, and we registered free domain on www.dynu.com, so our domain is rezidenca30.dynu.com.

I would like to have email addresses named someone@rezidenca30.dynu.com, ofcourse if this is possible.

If anyone can just write few steps how to start and do it.

Thx,

Luka

You can download either qmail or exim(exim i found very easy to configure) and configure them as an SMTP server sending e-mail from your domain...i have used exim so i can tell you about that...all you have to do is put your domain name in the ifrst option which shows up in the /etc/exim/exim.conf file.it reads:
qualify_domain =

you can put it in whatever.i dot know about slackware but when i downloaed exim debian made me go through all these set up steps and from them on everything just works.

once you have done this...you will have to tell all your mail clients that your SMTP server is the linux box...you will also have to open up port 25 on your router for the SMTP server to run.
qmail i hear is equally easy to configure though i have not tried.hope this helps.
