building and installing open ldap


hi all......

while building (make) open ldap i am getting errors as

ldbm.c:249: error: ‘DB’ has no member named ‘set_malloc’
ldbm.c:251: warning: passing argument 2 of ‘ret->open’ from incompatible pointer type
ldbm.c:251: warning: passing argument 4 of ‘ret->open’ makes pointer from integer without a cast
ldbm.c:251: error: too few arguments to function ‘ret->open’
make[2]: *** [ldbm.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/vinay/ldap2/openldap-2.0.11/libraries/libldbm'
make[1]: *** [all-common] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/vinay/ldap2/openldap-2.0.11/libraries'
make: *** [all-common] Error 1

can anyone help me please....

Did you remembered to run:
Code:
make depend
after ./configure, to build the dependencies?

ya i executed ./configure

then it asked me to run make depend..i executed

then i executed make..

What version of openldap are you trying to install. Because ldbm.c does not exist in openldap 2.4.x

I was trying to install openldap-stable-20010926.tgz

This is openldap 2.0.15 and it's quite 3ys old.
Go get and install the latest 2.4.16 version, as more likely the version you're trying to install is incompatible with the db-4.x installed on your system.
