BUG: soft lock detected on CPU#0

I get following message when booting Fedora 4:

Quote:
BUG: soft lock detected on CPU#0
It's not a hardware problem, as windows work fine. Needless to say that yesterday everything was fine and that I found about the error a few minutes before programming competition.

What does the error mean, how can I fix whatever went wrong?

Thanks
