Bug Fix

Im having trouble installing the bug fix "redhat-config-packages-1.2.7-1.noarch.rpm"

It would take a lot of space to explain exactly whats happening, if you need me to I can tell you in more detail, but Im hoping some one can just give me some directions.

oh yeah... Im running red hat fedora core 1

thanks a lot

Hi,

You should describe your problem although briefly..

What do you mean saying "Im having trouble installing"? You don't know how to install or you may get some errors during installation? Please tell something more, because it's difficult to guess what sort of problem do you have.

ok
Im sorry I didnt post enough info before

ok well when I try to install it I keep getting an error message saying I need to deselect the old redhat-config-packages
so I looked around in add or remove apps and found it, then I deselected it, but when I pushed update it tells me that it cant find an old file.

hopefully these pictures can help explain...

These images do not load at all...

I assume you are using some Add/Remove GUI program from your disto? So you may try to do this manually. Download this update package, open console and as root execute:
Code:
rpm -Uhv /path/to/redhat-config-packages-1.2.7-1.noarch.rpm
I hope this helps.

How did it work?

Good Morning-

I am having the same problem and I was wondering how it worked out for you? What did you finally have to do to make it work? I would like to get this bug fixed so that I can install some of the great programs that I want to but, until I get this fixed I can not go any futher with this-

I am getting all ther same things that you listed, like your screenshots- same thing to a tee-

When I opened up the terminal and typed in the command, it did not work for me? Is that the wrong thing to do?

"So you may try to do this manually. Download this update package, open console and as root execute:"

You write "Open console, what does that mean?

I hope I am not being a pain, but when I saw that you were having the smae problem, I just had to ask if it is fixed for you-

Thanks in advance for any help possible~

Aggie
