browser issue


Hi all, my acer netbook, shows I have internet, but when I go to the browser it won't connect, can anyone offer a soluti

on please?

I see this is your first post, so welcome to the board.

You need to supply some information. Can you explain a little more by what you mean by

We need to know the type of connection you have, wired, wireless? Do you have a router? Can other systems connect?

Open a command prompt, and run some commands and paste the results in this thread.

The commands: 'ifconfig' 'iwconfig' 'cat /etc/resolv.conf' 'lspci'

Run each command, one at a time. Do not enter the single quotes. Copy and paste each commands output. If your system responds with 'Command not found' you may have to enter the command as root user.

Post back, we'll go from there.

Linux connection manager show connected if it is connected locally{LAN} or globally...
You need to see whether you can ping any other site like google or yahoo
use this command

see if the reply comes...

there may be several issues that stops you connect through internet..
specify all your settings
post your output of following command
