Brother 3075 Printer Can't connect

I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS installed and have downloaded a Brother install package for the usb HL-3075CW printer. I have tried and tried to get it working and it is neither recognized nor can I ping it. It is found via it's IP with traceroute. I am relatively new to Linux but have pretty fair computer skills otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

I assume the printer is connected via wired ethernet. I suggest reading the network setup guide. This explains how to configure networking using the front panel and I also suggest using a static IP address. Once that is configured you can use its built in website for everything else.

Brother's website has linux drivers you can download and install for this particular printer. You can also use any other color printer driver that is PCL6 too.

Thanks! Finally got it figured out for usb connection. Any guidance on wireless setup for the same printer? Cannot figure it out.

I suggest reading the network setup guide but you should be able to configure wireless via its web setup pages or via the front panel.
