broadband connection in fedora
 
i use fedora and whenever i am connecting the broadband cable to my hp pavilion dv4 laptop it is always showing htat message 'failed to connect.' service providers are telling that they need to put the ip address to activate the service but i can't find any place where to put it.plzz help me

So, which version of Fedora are you using? Where, exactly, is it showing "that message", and when? The ONLY places to put IP address(es) would be in the network manager when you are setting up the connection...but you say that your service provider needs to put the IP address in...which is confusing. And you are saying that you are connecting the 'broadband cable' to your laptop...WHICH cable, to what port, from what device?? Are you just plugging in an ethernet cable to your home router? Or are you needing to set up PPPoE to establish a DSL connection??
