Unhappy brcmsmac - FATAL: module not found

Hello,

I just compiled and installed kernel 3.2rc5 (from 3.1.4) on my laptop, but brcmsmac cannot be loaded with modprobe anymore, why is that and how can I get the module back?

I just started using Arch Linux

Thank you!

If the question doesn't belong in this section, feel free to move it.

Do I have to recompile the kernel? I can't find BRCMSMAC in the kernel config file.

Look to see if it exists in /lib/modules/3.2rc5-architecture/kernel/drivers/staging/brcm80211/brcmsmac/. There should be a brcmsmac.ko file in there, this is the module, if not there, than you have to try again and include it. I have no successful kernel building experience.

EDIT: If the brcm80211 folder is missing, this is probably what you need to include in configuration.

bcma needed to be disabled for brcmsmac to be included. Once I did that, it was included.
