bottom panel missing?
 
Hey,

hey the bottom panel in my fedora is missing.please do tell me the way to restore it back.

Hello,

Are you sure you just didn't set it to autohide? If you move your mouse to where it used to be then it'll reappear. If not then you must have closed it. Mouse right-click anywhere on the desktop and select Add panel will show a panel on the desktop, which you can then configure to your needs.

hey,

nope i have not autohidden it,after adding the panel the process that are running say vlc player doesnt appear in it??

Hi,

This happened to me once too, and I only got it back adding a new panel. When you add a new panel (at least as far as I know), you'll have to add the widgets you need/want also. Otherwise you'll just have an empty panel. Right click on the panel itself and select Add Widget (I'm assuming you're using KDE, right?). In the widget list select the Task Manager widget and if I'm not mistaking, you're running apps will be listed in the panel again.

I'd assume he's using GNOME, that's the default in Fedora.

Also, GNOME has two panels by default, KDE has only a bottom one by default.

I don't use GNOME any more either so I don't know if I can help.

First, try this command:

killall gnome-panel
If that doesn't fix it right-clicking on an empty spot on the remaining panel and seeing of there is anything called "add new panel" or "panel preferences" or something like that.

hey,

i created the new panel by right clicking on the top panel of mine ,then a panel appears at the bottom after that right click on that bottom panel and select "add to panel".Number of widgets appear choose the ones which you want,to view the proccess which you are running say winamp or something use a widget called as WINDOW LIST.

Please do correct me if i have gone wrong anywhere

Just try whatever you think fits. You can always rearrange and remove panel applets.

I just had the same problem due to a power outage. My original panel appears if I type in gnome-terminal, or turn off "Fallback mode":

But disappears if I close gnome-terminal.
