Bootloader restore


Im finally deleting shitty vista from my disk, but as I am game addict I will re-install it afterwards just for games.

Now I assume that will overwrite GRUB, so how do I restore boot record and at same time keep my grub config?

Boot your installed Linux distro (prefer LiveCD) then reinstall GRUB.

You need to re-setup - generally called re-installing even though strictly not. Even grub-install doesn't actually re-install the software.
See the "similar threads" below, or a quick search - comes up all the time.

Reinstall grub just like fix mbr.

so I just boot my fedora from usb, go grub-install /dev/hda and I will be fine?
