Booting using DVD

This is one of those times when your mind goes blank. I have been configuring a SUSE 9.3 Install on a Toshiba Tecra M4 and it has not been fun. However, I have managed to amaze myself -- and the system and all the devices seem to be working fine now-- except the TWINVIEW -- which I will work on this weekend, I have all the info I need.

So--the problem--- I need to resize a partition and I am pretty sure I need to do it from the DVD INstaller because it contains the / . So I simple want to boot the PC with the DVD and run the disk utilitites.

What is the best way to do this?

I have tried running a Yast2 from the init 3 and failsafe, but LINUX keeps telling me to unmount the volume first.

Regards.

I'm not sure about SuSE, but most distros have a rescue mode on the first installation CD/DVD.
At boot time just type:
linux rescue

is your DVD drive set as primary or slave?

when I upgraded my computer system I just pretty much just backed up my files, plugged in my DVD drive then went through the installation process from scratch... just to make things easier.

Thanks

The DVD is not starting automatically on boot-up. I will try the command.
