Booting Problems
 

hey guys.. have any of you ever come into some trouble w/ booting where it won't boot up, it gets to a spot that says "bad blocks inode 523292: 1024? I tried to enter as rw and it did work once but when I rebooted again even that didn't work. Do any of you know any commands to help me or anything? Thanks

Bro - when you were installing and creating your paritions for the *first* time, did you check for bad blocks when you were defining your partitions? From what you've described, it could be that you've got some bad sectors on your disk, if so, you might be facing a reinstall. What I'd recommend is to boot from the floppy; presumably that should allow you to get your system up and running, and from there, you can inspect your various partitions. -- J.W.

Yeah I did that.. This has happened before and I had to reinstall it but I think it's because there has been a few times that I haven't shutdown the computer properly b/c it froze up and it seems to do this every time that happens. Anyway, I got it up again I just ran the e2fsck -v -y <partition> command. Thanks for your help though
