Booting Problem - FC5 - system restarting

Hello , I am new to linux. i am having Xp, I installed FC-5 along wit XP.since i am using Hp motherboard i had to give "linux apci=off" and the installation was successfully completed. Now afer i try to get into linux.. It just says "uncompression Ok" "Loading kernel".. then it just restarts.

I removed the "quiet" option in the boot option. I saw this warning "Unable to Open initial console" then some lines are printed and again restarted.

The linux and Xp are in diffrent partitions only.

Please Tell me how to solve this problem. Tell solution simple language since i have never been exposed to linux mostly.
