Booting problem
I wanted to boot but it told me that the check of the root filesystem had failed and I needed to run fsck manually. But when I tried it didn't work, just said there was nothing installed at all (including apt-get: "apt-get isn't installed, try typing apt-get install apt-get" - yeah). I have noooo idea what to do to get the system working normally without re-installing - i'd be gateful for any clue :(

It would be helpful to know a couple things. First off what distro and version of Linux are you running and is it a LiveCD or full installation.
Also, was it booting before or is this a new installation which has never booted from the local disk? |
It's Ubuntu 7.04, full instalation and it's been working before. An hour ago :/
