Booting Linux from Compact Flash...

I'm trying to figure out the best way to create a CF disk to boot Linux from.

I've read hundreds of web page but can't seem to determine the best way to attack this.

Seeing Compact Flash disks have write limitations I thought the best thing to is create LiveCF, plus my small application added. (I think Fedora has simple GUI tools to do this).

I installed Fedora directly onto a 4Gig Compact Flash, it appears to be working, but I know there will be too many writes to the flash card; not good.

Can anyone set me in the right direction with this task? What is the best way to create a Boot-able CF card? Btw: in my system there will be no HDD.

Thanks,
Jack

This is a very difficult task with tons of steps. There are books that can guide you: Linux LiveCD, Knoppix books, google LiveCD.

Anyone familiar with Fedora tools Livecd-creator or Revisor? It appears these tools will help me with my task. Linux on CF can't be that difficult these days.

This is not a custom embedded application, it's a canned version of linux running on a diskless PC.
