booting in flash usb drive

Greetings:

I downloaded the SLAX linux. Based on my research it can be save in the flash usb drive. I want my pc to boot in my usb, does booting in the usb needs that my BIOS support USB boot. Is this correct.? Is there any alternative.:Pengy:

Correctomundo my friend. Your BIOS needs to support a USB boot device. Change the boot order and you should be good. If it does not currently support, go to the manufacturers website and find the latest version. Flash your BIOS, the site should have instructions on how to do it if you're unfamiliar. If you are unfamiliar proceed with extreme caution. You could fuck up your BIOS and not be able to boot at all. Make sure you have access to a Windows computer, you need to be able to boot into DOS, and make sure you back up your current BIOS to the floppy disk.

Brandon
